چکیده
The purpose of this work is to evaluate the performance several wear models, either with different mathematical formulation or definition unknown coefficients, on prediction work-roll amplitude in Hot Strip Mills (HSM). To achieve goal, a classical model calibration approach based inverse optimization has been developed calibrate these models. A large industrial hot rolling database composed by roll measurements for both later finishing mill stands (F6 and F7) from ArcelorMittal Dofasco HSM was considered least-square cost function applied minimize differences between numerical experimental results during process. averaged gap optimized predictions then used as quantitative indicator compare models identify most suitable one prediction. In addition, an Artificial Neural Network (ANN) model. Thus, obtained using ANN were compared ones Classical approaches.

A Roll Wear Prediction Model in Hot Plate Rolling
In this paper, the wear of work roll in hot plate rolling is introduced and the parameters affecting wear mechanisms in hot strip mill are investigated. In addition, different wear mechanisms in hot rolling and the differences between these mechanisms in different stands are explained. Using the finite element method and the rolling equations, a work roll wear model is proposed. Wear is modeled...
متن کاملPrediction of Work Roll Initial Crown according to Desired Strip Profile in Hot Rolling
The final hot strip profile is a superposition of the roll initial crown, the roll bending and flattening crown, the roll wearing crown and the roll thermal crown. In this research, linear regression models are proposed to predict the roll force, the roll wearing crown and the roll thermal crown using experimental data provided by Mobarake Steel Complex (MSC). The short beam theory based on ela...

Cold rolling of steel is one of the most important metal forming processes so an accurate control of its parameters during the process is necessary. In this paper, the friction coefficient has been proposed as a function of cold rolling parameters such as forward slip, forward and backward tensile stresses ,strip thickness, static deformation, resistance of strip before and after rolling ,strip...

متن کاملSASS applied to optimum work roll profile selection in the hot rolling of wide steel
The quality of steel strip produced in a wide strip rolling mill depends heavily on the careful selection of initial ground work roll profiles for each of the mill stands in the finishing train. In the past, these profiles were determined by human experts, based on their knowledge and experience. In this research, a Self-Organising Migration Algorithm (SOMA), a heuristic optimisation algorithm,...
